The new form of collaboration - New Normal

By 'distance', the last 1.5 years have been particularly difficult for all of us. The impact of the global pandemic has been particularly dramatic, not only for each individual but also for the economy. Public life has been largely brought to a standstill. In addition to the struggle for many livelihoods, companies were confronted with another problem: working together at a distance.
Accordingly, our working world has also undergone a radical transformation in recent months. While some companies already had touch points with the digital world of work before the pandemic, others were literally thrown in at the deep end. Moving workplaces to home offices was and is part of the crisis strategy. Digital workspaces emerged and collaboration technologies became elementary - digitization is experiencing a boom.
But not all companies are meeting the challenge of rapid technological change. The prevailing under-digitization is causing problems, because often the necessary investment volume to shape the digital future is missing.
Which question concerns us all: What will the post-pandemic form of collaboration look like? What will our 'new normal' be like?
The study "Working in the Corona Pandemic - Towards the New Normal" by the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering confirms that the future of the working world will be hybrid. More than half of the companies surveyed affirmed that they will expand mobile working after the pandemic. Despite the difficult start, a positive change has emerged over the months: The employees did not notice any reduction in productivity. On the contrary, productivity even increased in some cases. In the future, attendance times would only be a part of the performance evaluation, because other instruments have just as much relevance.
The next few months will have further influence on the formation of new scenarios for the post-Corona period in our working world. What consequences the pandemic will have for our society as well as for politics and the economy is already being discussed in numerous studies and publications. The fact is: despite the negative, the Corona crisis has also opened up new opportunities and thus significantly driven innovation in the digital sector.
